MONITOX - Black Sea Cooperation Network Monitoring Toxicants 2014-2020

 The Insitute of Geology and Seismology proudly announces the cooperation within the MONITOX project with the following partners - „Dunărea de Jos” University, Galați, Romania (Lead Partner), Zoology Institute, Chișinău, Republic of Moldova, Eastern Macedonia and Thrace Institute of Technology, Kavala, Grecia și National Institute of Research and Development ”Delta Dunării”, Tulcea, Romania. 

   

 

  The parties collaborate within the MONITOX (cod eMS BSB27) - Black Sea Basin interdisciplinary cooperation network for sustainable joint monitoring of environmental toxicants migration, improved evaluation of ecological state and human health impact of harmful substances and public exposure prevention

   The Project is partially funded by the European Union through the European Neighbourhood Instrument within the Black Sea Cooperation Network Program 2014-2020, and represents the Priority 2: Promoting a coordonated environment policy and sea waste reduction in the Black Sea. 
   The main objective of the project is to improve the regional cooperation in environment pollution joint monitoring and to improve the methodology and data sharing of ecological state and human health impact of harmful substances. The total budget of the project is 952.583,55 EUR, of which 876.576,55 EUR is the contribution of the European Union. 

 

UPDATE!

On the 2nd of November the launching seminar of the project MONITOX - „Black Sea Basin interdisciplinary cooperation network for sustainable joint monitoring of environmental toxicants migration, improved evaluation of ecological state and human health impact of harmful substances and public exposure prevention” took place. 

Prof.dr.hab. Antoaneta Ene (Project Manager, UDJG), and coordinators from Greece and the Republic of Moldova - Prof. dr. habil. Elena Zubcov, Prof. dr. Thomas Spanos, Dr. Oleg Bogdevich, Dr. Liliana Teodorof presented the main activities of the project - building a solid network of experts and laboratories in the Black Sea area, creating a joint system of monitoring the environmental pollution, ellaborating a scientific platform where information regarding toxic concentrations for different environments would be shared and evaluating the population health risk.
